The central theme of my work is oscillation. Oscillation moves me. It is a sign of life. Oscillation is doubt, control, and freedom. Oscillation can be caused by collision. Oscillation can go unnoticed. The collision happens within one’s own feelings. Hyperreality, in which we now live, has largely lost its humanity and connection to reality. A form is needed to search for feeling within the simulation.
In my work, I seek to evoke in the viewer a mix of emotions that never harmonize with one another. I aim to lock the viewer in this feeling for a while, sparking their own experiences and questions. But I also strive not to leave them in solitude. I offer in my work an outburst, an exit, hope — showing that oscillation is not about despair.
